Dancekool Vol.24 ! STYLE KING!
Today i went to Manning Bar in Sydney university to go to
DANCEKOOL.24 STYLE KING!
where we celebrated dance and the hiphop culture!
it was awesome! i actually found my way there surprisingly without getting lost :D
For those who don't know Dancekool is the first street dance studio in Sydney and runs Dancekool volume.XX which offically is the longest running major hip hop event in Australia and every year it grows bigger and better.
The Day revolved around 4 styles which homed the 1v1 battles of the day
Breaking!!!!!!
<+>Popping<=>
~Hip Hop~
\/\Locking\/\
Also had many guest judges such as Jr. BOOGALOO one of the best poppers in the world who came to Australia for US of A!!!!
BBoy Bounce representing Japan and Canada!
Kyo Sungmin from my town of Korea! judging hip hop
and Shogun Kim! juding the locking! he makes me wanna lock!!!!
pretty much that day i went alone saw some friends and stuck with a friend who was performing in a student showcase but....... she wondered off with her friends all the time so i was pretty much alone the day.
BUT all was not lost
i saw amazing popping battles that day and inspires me to dance more often and more harder!
Popping Jack won the popping battle and props to him! he's one amazing popper he moves his eyebrow to the rhythm!
nearing the end of the event Many showcases were displayed and Crews showed their stuff but one notable were NU!
NU crew represent! consisting of many of the battles finalists and Dancekool teachers they really showed their love of dance and hiphop culture through their performance. You saw how they were having fun and it really made me want to have something like that one day dancing with a crew for an audience. their reutine was probably the most organised and most planned on ( it being the longest performance ) but it explored their versatility in style as they all displayed a certain amount of each style to display their love of dance but also their adaptability and skill when it comes to something they truely dedicate too.
Thanks for such a spiritual and amazing night celebrating the subculture we all know as hip hop through dance.~
Oh and FYI... getting home wasn't easy..... i couldn't get a lift so i walked it to Central station.. was kinda dangerous but i got home safe! At night.... things start to lurk...
